Dr. Colliton received his high school, undergraduate, and medical education at the hands of the Jesuits. He graduated from Georgetown University Medical School in 1948. Following two years of post-graduate training and a brief time in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, he practiced |

general medicine in Washington, DC until June, 1955. At that time he began a three year residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Columbia Hospital for Women in the District and Montgomery County, MD which continued until his retirement in December, 1987. He held privileges at several local hospitals and from 1981-1983 he served as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD, the largest obstetrical service in the State. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Clinical Professor in that department at the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal. In 1990 he was invested as a Knight of Malta. He has published several scientific and medico-moral articles. He has also testified before the General Assembly of Maryland and Committees of the Congress on numerous occasions. He is most proud of his 55 years of marriage to Margaret E. Ruppert and of his nine children they parented. |
